Agriculture, Forestry, and Waste Management Strategies
The Agriculture, Forestry, and Waste Management sector is the only sector that is capable of negative GHG emissions (it can be a GHG sink rather than a GHG source). This sector also includes GHG emissions related to Connecticut’s solid waste management.
The strategies in the Agriculture, Forestry, and Waste sector that are currently being analyzed by NESCAUM include:
-
adopting actions to increase recycling and source reduction to implement the CT Solid Waste Management Plan;
- conserving and enhancing carbon sequestration levels in Connecticut’s forests and fields.
