Connecticut Partnership to Receive Nearly $4.2 Million in Stimulus for Energy Programs
The CT Clean Energy Fund and partners will undertake a collaborative project to help residents save energy and boost clean energy usage through a comprehensive portfolio of actions in 14 rural, suburban and low-income communities throughout Connecticut. The municipal participants include the Connecticut Clean Energy Communities of Bethany, Cheshire, East Haddam, East Hampton, Glastonbury, Lebanon, Mansfield, Portland, Ridgefield, Weston, Westport, Wethersfield, Wilton and Windham. The project aims to have at least 10 percent of households set specific, measurable goals of 20 percent energy savings and clean energy usage and provides support to help residents achieve these goals. The partnership estimates the project could reduce the production of nearly 250,000 metric tons of harmful carbon dioxide emissions.
