Education & Outreach Strategies
Increasing awareness among the general public, policy-makers, community leaders, and others of climate change issues and solutions is important to Connecticut’s climate change initiative.
There are no specific Education and Outreach strategies that are being currently analyzed by NESCAUM. Examples of potential GHG reduction strategies in the Education and Outreach sector that were identified in the 2005 CT Climate Change Action Plan include:
- increasing outreach on climate actions to targeted sectors, including municipalities and businesses;
- expanding and improving the statewide climate change website, www.ctclimatechange.com;
- developing appropriate messaging and outreach on climate change impacts and adaptation.
